ABU DHABI: Kiwi captain Kane Williamson ton helped New Zealand post a challenging target against Pakistan in the fourth One-Day International match of the 5-match series.
New Zealanad batting first after winning the toss scored 299 for the lost of four wickets in the allotted 50 years . Opener MJ Guptill scored 58 runs while DG Browline scored 42, who set the platform for the Kiwis with the solid start to score a good total.
Kane Williamson scored 123 runs who lost his wicket in the last ball of the innings. Irfan picked two wicket for Pakistan while Shaid Afridi, Anwar Ali and Sohail Tanvir shares one wicket apiece.
Earlier, KAne Williamson won the toss and decided to bat first.
“That was a big tragedy yesterday, especially for the victims’ families. We are playing for them, we are playing for the people back home,” Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi said of the Tuesday gory attack in Peshawar on an Army Public School that killed 142 people including 132 students during the toss. “We are all trying to back each other up.”
Pakistan made two changes in the team. Left-hand opening batsman Nasir Jamshed has made a comeback to the national side, along with right-arm pacer Anwar Ali.
Paving way for Jamshed and Ali are right-hand middle order batsman Asad Shafiq and left-arm pacer Wahab Riaz.
New Zealand has made three changes in their team. Daniel Vettori, AF Milne and DG Brownlie have been included in the playing 11, in place of James Neesham, Anton Devcich and Nathan McCullum.
