GILGIT: Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) legislative assembly led by Chief Minister Mehdi Shah would complete its five-year tenure on December 10 (tomorrow) while the federal government has appointed Sher Jahan Mir as caretaker CM on Tuesday.
GB government had came into existence during the Pakistan People’s Party government of ex-Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and president Asif Ali Zardari in 2009 under the the GB Empowerment and Self-Governance Order.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) led federal government has released notification for the appointment of caretake CM Sher Jahan Mir while Governor Pir Karam Ali Shah retained on his post.
The caretaker government given task to hold election during next 90 days while new caretaker legislators are likely to take oath on December 12.
