Crickets, family, friends farewell to Phillip Hughes at funeral

NEW SOUTH WALES: Australian Phillip Hughes funeral has ended with procession, as thousands of joined the march behind cricket’s cortege on Wednesday at Macksville.

According to reports, the pallbearers are Hughes’ father Gregory Hughes, his brother Jason Hughes, Australian cricket Test skipper Michael Clarke, family friends Corey Ireland, Mitchell Lonergan, Matthew Day, Arron Finch and Tom Cooper.

Michael Clarke said he didn’t know about him, but he keep looking for Hughes. Clarke know it’s crazy but he expect any minute to take a call from him or to see his face pop around the corner, he added.

Hughes sister said, “I am so honoured to call you my brother, my best friend and my hero. The memories we share will always be the link that keeps us together, even though you physically can’t hug your little sister in the times of need.”

West Indies legendry batsman Brine Lara, Australian Legend Shane Warn, Brat Lee, Indian star batsman Virat Kohli, Australian cricket team and other cricketers have attended the funeral of Hughes in his home town Macksville.

Earlier, Phillip Hughes passed away on Thursday after fighting for his life in coma for two days. Hughes got head injury after bouncer bowled by Sean Abbott hit on hi head on Tuesday in a domestic match.
