ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Paksitan on Friday rejected allegation of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan claiming ‘additional printing of approximately 5 million (50 lakh) ballot papers in 2013 general election in a bid to rig the polls.’
ECP spokesperson told reporters that the allegations of printing ‘additional 5 million ballot papers in 2013’s polls’ completely baseless and misleading.
‘0.8m (8 lakh) ballot papers were printed for in last polls as one book contains 100 pages,’ spokesperson said.
He said that overall 173 million (17 crore and 30 lakh) ballot papers were printed for 86.1 million (8 crore and 61 lakh) registered voters in Pakistan.
ECP was answering answered the allegations leveled by PTI chairman Imran that the ruling political party, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) had won the election by ’15 million fake votes’ via ‘additional printing of 5 million ballot papers given to Returning Officers (RO) to rig the election.’
