KATHMANDU: Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif has said that SAARC must capture imagination of our people who can contribute immensely towards building confidence among member states.
Nawaz Sharif addressing 18th SAARC Summit in Kathmandu said that he congratulate government of Nepal for successfully holding SAARC summit.
Pakistan stand to promote regional cooperation, Nawaz said, “We should address our common issues such as poverty, woman empowerment, this requires close coordination at regional level.”
Pakistan attaches high importance to SAARC, theme selected for SAARC Summit is important, he said.
Recent monsoon floods in South Asian countries raised the necessity for regional cooperation, Sharif said.
He suggested that soft visa regime is needed among member states, wish dispute free South Asia where they fight poverty and other ills.
Pakistan will be pleased to offer itself to host 19th SAARC Summit in Islamabad, he said.
