Russia lifts ban on arms export to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Saturday announced that lifting of long-time ban on arms’ export decided by US arch-rival Russia.

Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif while talking to reports said that Russia lifted ban over arms’ trade to Pakistan and agreed to resume weaponry export.

Asif revealed that Pakistan would get first fleet of military helicopters from Russia next month.

He said that the Russia, China and Pakistan cooperation could bring prosperity and peace in the region.

Significant developments emerged in shape of very first military cooperation agreement between Russia and Pakistan as Russian defense minister Sergei Shoigu visited Pakistan since 1969.
