Japan’s ‘Black Widow’ arrested over suspicion of killing seven partners

TOKYO: Japanese police on Wednesday arrested a 67-year-old millionairess, who has been the beneficiary of a combined 800 million yen ($6.8 million) over the last two decades, over suspicion of poisoning her husband with cyanide after death of six former partners.

The suspect of “black widow” case in Japan  reportedly collection 800 million yen ($6.8 million) via insurance money and other assets she received after the seven men’s deaths, Jiji Press said.

Seventh and Sixth Partners:

Suspicions came forward after death of Chisako Kakehi’s fourth husband and seventh partner, Isao Kakehi, who died after felling sudden sickness at home in December last year while autopsy found highly toxic cyanide compounds in his blood.

According to reports, the last death came after the September death of a 75-year-old boyfriend who died at a restaurant after sudden sickness too.

Fifth Partner:

Her then-fiance died after collapsing the motorbike in 2012.

Fourth Partner:

Reports said that a boyfriend who died in 2009 which was believed to be suffering from cancer.

Third Partner: 

In 2008, 75-year-old husband died.

Second Partner: 

Second husband lost his live due to a stroke at age of 69 in 2006. She married the man after meeting through a dating agency.

First Partner:

Reports revealed that that she began the death play began from 1994 after death of her first husband who died at 54.

Traces of cyanide were detected in his body, media reports said.

Kakehi denies involvement:

However, Kakehi has denied any involvement of her husband’s death after being arrested in Kyoto by Japanese police.

Police department, which disclosing the details of the amount, said that she did it for money.
