KARACHI: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has said that no untoward incident took place due to effective security measures in 10 days of Muharram in Karachi and it credit goes to security forces in Karachi.
Talking to media after attending passing-out parade of Rangers basic recruits training course-18 in Karachi, he said that there it was credible security threats in Muharram but law enforcement agencies had taken concrete measures to ensure law and order.
He said that the security situation in Karachi is not satisfactory but better than past.
The Minister said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will visit Karachi to review security situation in metropolis and military leadership will also be invited as new corps commander has taken charge of his duties.
He said that lot of work has to be done to improve law and order situation in Karachi adding that Rangers is not only security agency responsible for law order situation in mega city.
Nisar said it is prime responsibility of police to ensure law and order situation in the city.
The Minister informed media that as many as 7,500 people were arrested in Karachi operation.
