LONDON: World’s first smartship The Quantum of the Seas’ has arrived in UK to sail across the Atlantic Ocean.
This is the third largest cruise ship of the world but holds the crown of most high-tech cruise ship in the world, boasting wristbands that serve as room keys, speedy wifi, virtual balconies in windowless rooms, the first dodgem ride on water, and a skydiving simulator.
The ship was build at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. It has nearly 3000 guest rooms, largest indoor activities space, flying trapeze, basketball court, bumper cars, roller skating and a food truck.
The specialty of the ship is its ground-breaking technology which is aimed at taking the stress out of holidays.
It also has the fastest internet speed. After spending its inaugural season in North America the 167,800-tonne ship will relocate to Shanghai in the spring. An eight-night Caribbean holiday is priced from £879 per person.
