ECP authorized for delimitation, electoral lists

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has been authorized for delimitations for local body elections (LB) polls in the country and for other measures through two ordinances issued by President Mamnoon Hussain.

The President has issued two ordinances regarding holding of local body’s election in the country. The one ordinance is delimitations amendment ordinance 2014 and second regarding electoral roles amendment.

From the delimitations amendment ordinance 2014 the ECP now authorized to carry out delimitations around the provinces for LB polls as well as it will also decide the objections regarding delimitations.

The other ordinance gives power to ECP to prepare electoral lists for LB polls and all the objections to electoral list will also be addressed by ECP.
