Meet Nokia Lumia 830 midrange smartphone with high-end specs

BERLIN: Software giant Microsoft announced its flagship smartphone Lumia 830 under Nokia’s flag at IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin.

The device was aimed to midrange flagship smartphone from the American company. The new Nokia Lumia 830 comes with a 5-inch LCD display with an HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, marking a step forward from the Lumia 820 but still not up to the Lumia 930’s sharpness.

Under the hood, the handset packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with four ARM Cortex-A7 CPU cores clocked at 1.2GHz, paired with an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit (GPU) and 1GB of RAM.

Other specifications include 16GB of internal storage capacity, microSD card support for additional memory, and a 2,200 mAh battery to keep things up and running.

The Lumia 830 makes no exception, boasting a 10-megapixel rear camera with PureView technology, Carl Zeiss optics, as well as optical image stabilization (OIS).

“Our affordable flagship, the Lumia 830, comes with a rear-facing 10MP PureView camera with ZEISS optics and the thinnest and lightest Optical Image Stabilization system we’ve ever built; letting you capture razor-sharp images day or night.

In terms of software, the Nokia Lumia 830 comes with Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8.1 on board, pre-loaded with neat features such as Live Tiles, Notification Center, Cortana, Microsoft Office, One Drive, and more.

The Nokia Lumia 830 will make its commercial debut later this month and retail for €330 (roughly $430). In the meantime, check out the video below to see it in action.
