Pakistan’s rulers don’t want accountability: Siraj

LAHORE: Jamat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq said on Friday evening, the rulers of the country don’t want the accountability.

Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has said that the involvement of the armed forces in political affairs was not a good precedent and it had not added to the prestige of the country and the nation in the world eyes.
Addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque, he said the primary task of the armed forces was the defense of the country’s borders and the political issues should be resolved by the politicians themselves. 
The JI chief said that the JI had made honest efforts during the last three weeks for rapprochement between the government and the protesting parties so that the crisis could be resolved without delay. He said the participants of the sit-ins in Islamabad had faced hardships during the last three weeks but he and his team had also sleepless nights and had made hectic efforts for a peaceful solution of the crisis. He expressed the hope that the dust would settle soon and the crisis would be over.
Referring to the Gaza situation, the JI chief said that fresh ceasefire had been struck after a month long bombardment by Israel and this was a victory for the Gaza Muslims. This had proved that faith was stronger than the guns.
