COLUMBO: Former captain and Sri Lanka’s legendary batsmen Mahela Jayawardene will be in action for the last time in test cricket against Pakistan starting from August 14.
Sri Lanka already leading the two match series 1-0 against Pakistan, now Lankan team eyeing to give a farewell to its legendary batsmen with a victory in the series.
The star batsmen so far served the country in 148 test matches, in which he scored 22806 runs at an average of 51.54.
His best ever score in the test innings came against South Africa in 2006 where he played an extra ordinary knock of 374 runs.
Cricket analysts’ recons that this will not be the end of the great individual carrier but also the end of the great long partnership between the two of the world’s finest batsman Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene.
The test will began from August 14 at Colombo, where visitors will be eyeing to get revenge and level the series while host will be looking forward for the victory and give a farewell to the country’s great batsman.
