MANCHESTER: England has outclassed India in fourth Test on Saturday, as host defeated world champions by an innings and 54 runs played at Old Trafford.
India replied of England’s 215 runs lead all out on 161 runs. Indian batting line failed again, as they lost 6 wickets just 66 runs on board.
Ravichandran Ashwin and Skipper MS Dhoni showed some resistance against the English pacers, but failed against spin attack of Moeen Ali who struck 4 wickets.
Ashwin knocked unbeaten 46 runs while the Dhoni scored 27 runs to guide India to 161 runs.
Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat first against England in the rainy conditions. England pacer Stuart Broad took the great advantage of the condition taking 6 wickets for the English side.
Indian had the horrific start as 6 batsmen gone back to the dressing room without scoring a run.
Dhoni once again played a vital knock only manage to score 71 runs with Ashwin’s 40 runs lead Indian team to score 152 runs.
England replied to India’s 152 runs scored a massive total of 367 runs. Joe Root played brilliantly for his 77 runs while wicket keeper batsman Jose Buttler scored 70 runs.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Varun Aaron took 3 wickets each for Indian side.
England Lead the five matches series 2-1 against India.
