ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani federal minister invited Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan at Independence Day ceremony scheduled at D-chowk area of the federal capital Islamabad.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rasheed said that Pakistan army is making preparations for the parade at D-chowk from past six months as decision of holding parade was made one year ago.
Rasheed said that only election tribunals could address the grievances of Imran but not the president, prime minister, interior minister or parliament are authorized to addressed grievances of Imran regarding previous election.
He said no rigging was committed in previous election, adding that the irregularities could happen and election tribunals are working to address these irregularities. He said Chaudhry Brothers, Imran Khan, Tahirul Qadri, Sheikh Rasheed, and friends of Karachi are also annoyed with the government due to PML-N stance over matter of Pervez Musharraf. He said government has permitted Imran Khan to hold public gathering in Islamabad.
This he said during in an interview with a private TV channel.
The federal minister said that Imran Khan had sought permission for the public gathering at D-chock the government has permitted PTI for holding public gathering.
He said Imran would have to satisfy local administration regarding other matters. He said politically PML-N has no objection for holding public gathering. Rashid said personally he is opposing Imran’s protest on the day of independence.
Rasheed said that PML-N returned to country instead of Pervez Musharraf’s strong government. He said that government makes decisions after thorough thinking, adding that PML-N never took U-turn on its decisions. He said PML-N upholds its decisions.
He said the government has not adopted any position for Geo channel, adding that the government took position for whole media. He said that the media is independent in country, adding that the government wants to maintain this position of media.
The information minister said that if any way goes towards the weakening of institutions this should have to be closed. He said many institutions in country were established in country for fulfillment of personal ambitions. He said government wants to make PEMRA independent.
He said Chaudhry brothers, Imran Khan, Tahirul Qadri, Sheikh Rasheed, and friends of Karachi are annoyed with the government due to matter of Pervez Musharraf. He said all these people are used to express their annoyance against the government. He said that the law should have to take its course regarding Musharraf, adding that the allegations of deal were leveled against PML-N with Musharraf. He said there is no restriction on anyone to express his views in democracy regarding any matter including Musharraf.
Pervaiz Rasheed said he is oldest friend of Chaudhry Nisar. Rashid said he personally asked Nisar regarding the matter of Musharraf, adding that Nisar has refused any negotiations regarding Musharraf with anyone. He said that the name of Musharraf was put on ECL due to Hamid Khan’s petition.
He said president, prime minister, Chaudhry Nisar and whole parliament could not reopen four constituencies. He said Imran instead of contesting cases in tribunals is leveling allegations against government. He said Imran Khan accepted US formula of recounting in Afghanistan. He said that Imran is adopting US stance of Afghanistan in Pakistan. He said Imran is used to oppose America but he immediately accepts US plan.
The federal minister claimed that there was no rigging committed in past elections, adding that this is report of international institutions. He said UNDP, PILDAT and other institutions termed these elections most transparent in the history of the country.
He said the irregularities could be happened. He said the election tribunals are hearing these complaints, adding that the decisions were declared against PTI. He said PTI candidate was declared disqualified in Hari Pur. He said Imran has alleged that a brigadier of MI committed rigging in the election, adding that Imran should tell the name of this brigadier.
He said that the record of votes is available with Election Commission and not with NADRA. He said there would be no crisis on 14th August, adding that it is possible we will forget on 15th and 16th August that what kind of rally Imran carried out. He said Imran is going to hold planned public gathering. He said that the protest demonstrations could hold any party including Jamaat-e-Islami, PTI, PML-N and PPP. He said that the government securing successes every day. He said prime minister is saying that the opponents should not harm the atmosphere of development and progress in the country through holding protests.
He said the government could not change the situation of 65 years in one year, adding that the masses should see whether the circumstances of the country are improving or more worsening. He said that last year inflation was at 12.8 percent and this year the inflation is at 8 percent. He said that the investigations against Tahirul Qadri are going on from last year and present government has not initiated any investigations. He said Qadri had run the media campaign with the cost of over one billion rupees on the occasion of long march in 2013.
He said that the army is making preparations of parade at D-Chowk from past six months. He said that the army conducts parade at Kakool every year but this time this parade would be held at D-Chowk. He said the government had made this year one year ago. He said Imran Khan would be enjoying sleep at 7:00 am. He said Imran would not start march prior to 3:00 pm. Parvez Rashid invited Imran to participate in army parade at 7:00 am and later on make about turn at evening.
