ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has started a probe against Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri and wrote a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and sought written details regarding Tahirul Qadri and his party.
According to a private TV channel here on Thursday, Federal Investigation Agency has started probe into the assets of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri.
FIA has written a letter to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) seeking details about the assets belonging to Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief.
The ECP has been requested to provide the details about manifesto of Dr Tahirul Qadri’s political party, registration and copies of PAT chief’s nomination papers.
The FIA has also sought asset details of Tahirul Qadri which he submitted to the ECP during his tenure as a parliamentarian in 2002.
The FIA has also sought cooperation from the ECP regarding investigation against Qadri and asked the commission to provide the details regarding Tahirul Qadri in written.
It is worth mentioning here that Qadri had been elected to the National Assembly in 2002 but vacated his seat.
According to ECP officials, the asset details of Tahirul Qadri and PAT will be provided to the FIA. It is mentioned here that asset details are not classified and any Pakistani can request the ECP to provide them.
