LONDON: Britain has imposed restrictions on Pakistani and foreign students for admissions on three universities and 57 private colleges over suspected fake English test.
British government stopped the educational institutions for visa sponsoring to the foreign students after revelation of English test scam yesterday.
Immigration Minister James Brokenshire revealed while speaking in the Commons yesterday that at least 48,000 immigrants have faked English language tests for student visas via scam run by criminals at examination centres licensed by the Britain’s Home Office.
The minister said that foreigners had passed the tests via systematic cheating who even hardly speak English words while the tests were taken under corrupt invigilation helping them to complete the answers, whereas, some migrants managed to buy certificates via paying £500.
Glyndwr University in north-east Wales and University of Bedfordshire are included in the university facing restrictions for admitting foreign students.
British authorities have called off the National Crime Agency for assistance in the investigation while some arrests have already been made.
It is noteworthy to mention here that the English language certificate helped the foreign students to get full benefits in Britain.
