ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday has expressed grief over the loss of human lives in yesterday’s clash between Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers and the police in Lahore and vowed to punish all those responsible for the fight.
In a statement issued from Prime Minister House, Sharif said a judicial tribunal has been established to find out all the responsible personnel for the tragedy and bring them to justice.
The statement said that culprits responsible for the loss of precious human lives cannot escape the punishment.
The Prime Minister said nobody will be allowed to mess with the law and order situation in the country.
The clash between PAT and police worsen on Tuesday and police used baton charge, air firing and tear gas to scatter PAT workers.
At least seven people, including a woman, were killed and dozens injured, including several police officers.
