PAT workers were ‘mass murdered’: Tahir ul Qadri

LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Wednesday said that the whole nation knows who fired the bullets, adding that PAT workers were ‘mass-murdered.’

He demanded that the ‘so called democratic government’ must stop targeting the opposition with state violence.

While addressing party workers through video link, Qadri thanked the political leaders who inquired about the health of injured PAT workers. He said that murderers flee while those who are murdered are presented as the murderers.

He claimed that police conducted ‘mass murder’ and ‘mass terrorism’ late night while rulers watched.

PAT chief said that the media timely captured how policemen fired straight at PAT workers, adding that none of his guards opened a single fire.

He thanked the media for ‘support in the difficult times.’ Qadri said that the policemen committed murders filed First Information Reports (FIR) against PAT workers from the state, adding that PAT will lodge its FIR in presence of the media.

PAT chief rejected the judicial commission formed by the government, saying that none of PAT members will appear before the commission. He said that no judicial commission can function independently while the government stays in power.

He alleged that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif jointly planned the operation. He requested the judge of the judicial commission to rescue himself.

Qadri also strongly condemned the attack on Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Member National Assembly (MNA) Tahira Asif, while praying for her quick recovery.
