ISLAMABAD: A speeding truck hit two Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) planes parked in a hanger at Benazir International Airport here on Friday.
According to sources, both the ART airplanes of PIA were badly damaged when a PIA truck smashed into them in early morning.
Damaged airplanes have been grounded by PIA and it may affect PIA’s routine operation, especially on shorter routes.
Usually, PIA uses ART airplanes, comprising of 54 seats, for shorter routes like from Islamabad to Lahore, Bahawalpur and Gilgit-Baltistan.
