ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said that next year’s development budget will envision development priorities of government for coming decade.
Iqbal shared these views in a high level meeting conducted to review suggestions for Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) here on Wednesday.
He further said that all the ministries have been provided principle rules – according to which, 70% completed projects will be given funds next year so that it can be fully completed while 50% completed projects will get fund in next two years and so on.
In next year’s agenda, human resource development, energy-water structure and value addition to improve exports will be the main focus for development in Pakistan.
However, Iqbal did not seem to be content with the budget allocation as he said that 5 billion rupees development budget is far too less for the 180 million people of Pakistan.
