LONDON: The Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that talks with the Taliban had been started with good intentions and peace will be established soon.
Prime Minister said there will be no compromise on the national security.
The prime minister spoke with the media as he arrived in the United Kingdom on a five-day official visit beginning April 30.
Prime Minister Sharif expressed hope that peace would be established in Pakistan and also praised the positive role being played by the media in the country. Prime Minister added that he would not let Pakistan’s security be troubled.
During his official visit, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will hold discussions with his British counterpart David Cameron on matters of mutual interest and he would also hold meeting with select UK cabinet ministers.
Nawaz Sharif would address an Investment Conference and would also meet select chief executives and investors from the financial and energy sectors.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch and PM’s Special Assistant on foreign affairs Tariq Fatimi are accompanying the prime minister.The Prime Minister would also meet members of the Pakistani Diaspora.
He said that government did not take any step against the freedom of media. He said that judicial commission has been formed to investigate into attack on senior journalist Hamid Mir.
Prime Minister said that his recent visit will strengthen the ties between UK and Pakistan.
He said that government is paying special attention to bring peace in Karachi. He said that overcoming the electricity shortfall is first priority of the government and many projects are underway to produce more electricity.
He said that Pakistan is passing though a crucial time and the home land will be protected at any cost.
He said that government will do its best for the prosperity of the country and Pakistani living abroad will make investment to the country.
