Colombo: Sri Lankan former off-spinner bowler Muttiah Muralitharan is going to celebrate his 42nd birthdays on April 17.
Muralitharan was born on April 17, 1972 in the Kandy, Sri Lanka.
He played 133 Test, 350 One-Day International (ODIs) and 12 Twenty20 matches of his career.
He became the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket when he overtook the previous record-holder Shane Warne on 3 December 2007.
He retired from Test cricket in 2010, registering his 800th and final wicket on 22 July 2010 from his final ball in his last Test match.
