New York: Nokia unveiled budget internet smartphone Nokia 225 both single and dual SIM variants with long lasting battery time.
The feature phone will hit select markets and will be available in several color options, including white, black, yellow, green, and red.
In terms of weight and dimensions, the Nokia 225 tips the scales below 100 grams and measures just 124 x 55.5 x 10.4 mm. Although it is so slim, the phone still features a 2.8-inch QVGA LCD Transmissive display. The Nokia 225 has a physical alphanumeric keypad that is both dust- and splash-resistant.
The feature phone works with a mini SIM card, and has a 2-megapixel main camera sensor with 2x digital zoom, video recording capabilities, capture and scene modes, light sensitivity adjustments, and more.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth for wireless transfers, a microUSB port, and a 3.5mm audio connector. Internal storage capacity is meager, as expected with a feature phone, but the device does have a microSD card slot for up to 32B of additional memory.
A 8 1,200 mAh battery will last for up to 27 days of standby time for the dual-SIM model and 36 days for the single-SIM one, up to 21 hours of talk time, and up to 49 hours of music playback time. Nokia Xpress Browser will handle all internet browsing and the feature phone comes preloaded with Facebook and Twitter social apps. Users will also be able to share their favorite photos on Twitter, Facebook, Slam via Bluetooth, Sina Microblog, or send them to friends though Bluetooth.
“When awesome happens, capture it with a sharp 2 megapixel camera. Then share it straight away – Facebook, Twitter and Nokia Xpress Browser all come pre-loaded. Use Slam via Bluetooth to share files with friends, or load up a 32GB microSD into the hot-swap memory card slot and save them for later,” touts Nokia.
Both the single- and the dual-SIM versions of the new Nokia 225 feature phone will hit commercial availability this quarter, but Nokia has not offered an exact launch date yet.
