NEW YORK: Pakistan has demanded the international community to provide civil nuclear technology to tackle its energy crises, demand have been made at the United Nations (UN) Disarmament Commission in New York.
Masood Khan, Pakistan permanent representative in United Nations talked about Pakistan responsibility and its necessities in the commission.
Pakistan ambassador said his country is committed to goal of disarmament but there should be no discrimination in peaceful uses of nuclear technology.
He said Pakistan has always followed the principles of restraint and responsibility.
Country representative said Pakistan does not want arms race in South Asia but is fully alert to the emerging security dynamics.
Masood khan categorically viewed that induction of ballistic missile defense system in South Asia will be an escalatory and destabilizing step.
