KHAIRPUR: Religious parties Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC), Majlis-e-Wahdat-ul Muslimeen (MWM) alongwith senator Faisal Raza Abidi held a conference with the name of Labbaik Ya Rasoolullah (PBUH) Conference in Mumtaz ground of Khairpur on Sunday.
Sahibzada Hamid Raza of Sunni Ittehad Council rejected the government’s pro-terrorists policy and demanded that military action (surgical strikes) be allowed to liquidate the anti-Pakistan terrorists of the TTP.
He maintained that the Conference was another manifestation of unity of Sunni and Shia Muslims against the terrorists. He said that whoever supports Taliban by any means including talks is equally responsible for terrorist attacks on Pakistanis.
Senator Faisal Raza Abidi said that he had no enmity with any party or group but he requested all the political parties to expel extremist elements taking shelter in the parties.
He said he was ready to pardon the political opponents but he asked them to clarify whose line they were toeing against him.
MWM chairman Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri said “Sindh Government tried its best to stop pro-peace and pro-Pakistan Shia Muslims and their Sunni allies by raids and arrests but our steadfastness made them to bow to legitimate stance,”
Pakistan’s Brelvi and Shia parties are strong opponents of Taliban rebels and this was their second joint show of strength after a similar conference in Gilgit last year.
