FATULLAH: Pakistan cricket team beat Afghanistan by 76 runs in an Asia Cup match here at Usman Ali Khan stadium.
Afghanistan won the toss and chose to bat first.
Pakistan’s Umar Akmal scored 102 runs with an innings that was a treat to watch after a quick loss of 4 wickets by Pakistan with only an opener Ahmed Shahzad making a brisk 50 to keep the scoreboard ticking.
Afghanistan’s bowling restricted Pakistan to 248 runs with Umar Akmal seeing the innings till the end Mirwais Sharif took 2 wickets by conceding 29 runs in eight overs.
Afghanistan started well in the batting but soon the wickets started to fall and Pakistan’s spinners came to the experienced team’s rescue as Muhammad Hafeez took 3 wickets while Saeed Ajmal took two.
Afghanistan’s Noor Zardan made 44 runs.
Man of the match award went to Umar Akmal who scored a ton while Pakistan team earneda bonus point with this win and now have 5 points in the tournament.
