KARACHI: Sindh Assembly Interim speaker Syeda Shehla Raza adjourned the session after Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Members of Provincial Assembly protested against her act of silencing the microphone of their minority MPA Deewan Chand Chawla during his speech.
MQM MPA Khwaja Izhar-ul-Hasan said that the Interim speaker is serving her party (PPP) against her constitutional duty to remain ‘neutral’ during the operation of house.
MQM minority MPA Deewan Chand Chawla was apprising the house about the issue of abduction of hindu girls in rural Sindh when the speaker silenced her microphone upon which MQM MPA Sumeta Syed vocally protested and was soon joined by her party members in the house.
MQM law makers not only protested inside and outside the august house claiming that they all had their microphones silenced by the Interim Speaker.
The Speaker has adjourned the session till 19th February 2014.
