Karachi: Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Memon on Monday has said that the Sindh government will support Sindh police as they working according to the constitution.
Speaking at the Sindh Assembly, the Minister has categorically cleared the government stance that the targeted operation was not against a particular party or section, it was purely against the terrorists and culprits.
He said that the investigation has been started for police officers who tortured Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker during detention.
I want to clear for all those who want to change the police leadership in Karachi, the police of the metropolis are very competent and they are working according to the constitution, he added.
It is to mentioned here that the MQM senior leader Farooq Sattar earlier today, filed a petition in Sindh High Court in which he seeks an action against Additional Inspector General (AIG) Shahid Hayat, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) East Pir Mohammad Shah and the SHO Shah Faisal police station for their involvement in the arrest against the arrest of the party worker.
The MQM chief Altaf Hussain on Sunday also leveled serious allegations on Shahid Hayat and demanded the government to take action against him.
