KHUSHAB – Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz have once again locked horn in the political arena as voting war resumes on NA-69 seat from Khushab.
Keeping in view of current wave of violence, strict measures have been taken for the security purpose.
The constituency has about 3,37,645 votes in total who will vote for PML-N and and PTI coontenders.
According to reports, though poll timing was 8:00 am, but polling staff was late to take their charge.
PML-N has fielded son of Sumera Malik, who won the seat in 2013 with 11, but later on disqualified on the petition of Umer Aslam Awan of PTI.
Malik has won the NA-69 seat thrice, once in 2002, twice in 20088,108 votes, and thrice in 2013. Given the established vote bank of her, PML-N decided to give his son ticket.
Sumera Malik had won the NA-69, in 2002 election on the ticket of the National Alliance, she was a PML-Q candidate in 2008 while she was in the PML-N fold in 2013 polls.
Similarly another battle is going to be held in PK-50 Haripur which was vacated by Yousaf Ayub Khan, who was disqualified by the court.
