ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has disposed of the election petition filed by Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Secretary General Sardar Jahangir Khan Tareen.
The apex court has directed the Election Tribunal to decide the Jahangir’s petition as soon as possible.
Three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani heard the petition filed by PTI leader through Hamid Khan Advocate on Tuesday.
As court resumed the hearing, Chief Justice Jillani addressing Jahangeer Tareen said “former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has sent your case to election tribunal and said case is under trial in election tribunal.
Responding to the observation of the court, the counsel for PTI leader Hamid Khan argued that the counsel for respondent Muhammad Siddique Baloch takes adjournment on every date.
Later, the court disposed of the matter with observation the Election Tribunal should decide the case as soon as possible.
PTI leader Jahangeer Tareen was candidate for MNA from National Assembly constituency 154 Lodhran.
