ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar seemed firm over the governmental decision regarding removal of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) chief, Tariq Malik, as made explaination before parliamentarians on Monday.
In a bid to ward off the pressure the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government has been facing over the sacking of Nadra chairman, IM Chaudhry Nisar wrote an explanatory letter to parliamentarians and defended the move.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali, in his letter, said that it is inappropriate to attach the removal of Nadra chairman Tariq Malik with the matter of thumb impression verification, a task Nadar was assigned to examine authenticity of polled votes following reports of rigging in May 11 general elections and subsequent by-elections.
