KARACHI: Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Monday has announced results of pre-engineering (Part I or 1st Year) and Science General (Part I or 1st Year) of ending session of 2013.
The announcement was made by the controller of examination Imran Khan Chishti for the candidates of pre-engineering and science general candidates.
According to the press release, 26127 candidates were enrolled in Pre-Engineering Part-I while 25713 participated in the annual examination.
The number of students who passed in ‘six papers’ the exams is 13398, ‘five papers’ 3965, ‘four papers’ 3032, ‘three papers’ 2702, ‘two papers’ 1503 while 858 cleared ‘one paper’.
Passing ratio amongst the pre-engineering students is 52.15 percent in six papers, 15.13 percent in  five papers, 11.80 percent in four papers, 10.52 in three, 5.85 in two and 3.34 percent in one paper.
The press release showed that 1882 candidates were enrolled in Science General Part-I while 1839 appeared in the annual examination.
The number of students who passed in ‘six papers’ the exams is 854, ‘five papers’ 418, ‘four papers’ 328, ‘three papers’ 129, ‘two papers’ 63 while 35 cleared ‘one paper’.
Passing ratio amongst the general sciences students is 46.44 percent in six papers, 22.73 percent in  five papers, 17.84 percent in four papers, 7.01 in three, 3.43 in two and 1.90 percent in one paper.
