ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday has allowed judges to wear masks during proceedings of high-risk cases as well as continue hearings via video link technology for security purposes.
First-ever announcement has been made in increasing security measures for judiciary personnels as PM Nawaz Sharif allowed the judges for under mask, video link hearings in order to secure their lives from criminal bids.
PM Sharif was addressing the Vision 2025 ceremony organised in Islamabad on Friday (today) and made several announcements followed by the federal government’s future plan including the one regarding elimination of terrorism and extremism from the country.
The premier said that different cases of a province could be heard in other part of the country as well.
Nawaz Sharif urged boosting the justice speed in Pakistan, said, ‘Pronouncement of cases were not made after years longer time; terrorism cases should be winded up within 14 days and 14 days meanings are 14 days.’
While commenting over the arrested criminals during Karachi operation, Sharif said, ‘Thousands of criminals has been arrested in Karachi but crime ratio will significantly increase if they don’t get immediate punishments.’
He claimed that consultation would be commenced with the opposition regarding introduction of new bail ordinance for eradicating crime from the country.
The Pakistan PM signalled a constitutional amendment regarding bail provision for the criminals involved in grievous cases.
He directed the provincial administration for contriving necessary laws for blocking paths of terrorist and sectarian elements.
PM Nawaz Sharif placed the establishment of peaceful environment in the country in top priority of his government and indicated provision of strict punishments to the criminals.
