LAHORE: Pakistan has now enlisted in the countries across the globe that provide wide cyber grounds for spreading any sectarian and biasedly content which could caused severe incidents like Rawalpindi via hatred posts.
Pakistan’s Information Technology Ministry still incapable in blocking high-risk internet sites and social networking content spreading sectarian contents via specially designed systematic filters, governmental sources said.
The sources revealed that the country has no technology to block or filter specific contents and web addresses, whereas, different countries designed special systems which could remove disagreeable data from internet.
Recalling the history when telecommunication sector was going through an establishment period in 2012, the sources told that the authorities didn’t emphasise working on such programmes.
Spokesperson to Ministry of Information Technology earlier told the local newspaper that a policy directive has sent to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) but no reformation were made due to delay in appointments of PTA’s chairman.
According to unofficial statistics, recent number of internet users is more than 30 million in Pakistan while 10 million are using social networking website like Facebook and Twitter etc.
