Tokyo: Just after few weeks of launch of Samsung Galaxy Note 3, now rumors are surfacing of Samsung Galaxy S5 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for 2014 launch.
We have recently reported that Samsung Galaxy S5 will pack with aluminum body instead of regular plastic and now new report revel the anti-shake 13 mega pixel camera of Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4.
This camera will take incredible pictures even in low-light conditions.
Moreover, the camera for both the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5 will also pack in an “anti-shake” feature, which will make videos and photos look as if they were taken using a tripod. Samsung is expected to begin production in the first half of 2014, per the report.
The latest news is courtesy of Patent Bolt, which cites a “foreign press report” as its source of information.
“According to a foreign press report, Samsung Electro-Mechanics Co Ltd has developed a new 13-Mpixel camera module with an optical anti-shake function for smartphones and mobile phones. The company plans to begin volume production in the first half of 2014,” reports Patent Bolt.
Apparently, the new camera sensor will be eight times brighter than the one Samsung currently deploys.
“In a place with low luminance, the new module can output an image whose brightness is eight times higher, compared with Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ previous product. Furthermore, the module has a low power consumption, the company said. The dimensions of the module are 10.5 x 10.5 x 5.9mm, which are equivalent to those of the company’s existing camera modules for smartphones,” adds the publication.
What’s more, the anti-shake feature would be able to correct an “angular error” of up to 1.5 degrees. This basically means that the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy S5 would have a better anti-shake functionality than the current crop of digital cameras, which can fix errors up to 0.7 degrees.
Rumors have been rife that the Galaxy S5 would feature a metal/aluminum body and see a complete overhaul in its design. Reports have also disclosed that the 64-bit processor meant for the Galaxy S5 is also in the final stages.
The Galaxy S5 is rumored to sport a 5.2-inch display and will likely pack in a fingerprint scanner and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). Previous rumors, however, have suggested that the smartphone will tout a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera (not 13 megapixels) and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
With the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Note 4 launches nearly a year away, we suggest you take these rumors with a pinch of salt.
