ISLAMABAD: Following retirement of military leadership, Prime Minister said that he better known his responsibilities and decision will be set according to the constitution and in the National interest.
According to the statement issued here on Monday from Prime Minister’s house, the names of new Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and Chief of Army Chief (COAS) will be announced at the same time.
“Decision will make according to the constitution and law of country”, the statement said.
Governmental sources said that the announcement for newly appointment military leadership likely to be made in second week of November.
The Pakistan’s COAS General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani had announced his retirement on November 29 while CJCSC General Khalid Shamim Wynne’s tenure ended today.
Earlier, the Pakistani government had announced the criteria for appointments on top military posts in accordance to seniority basis.
Lieutenant General Haroon Aslam, Lt-Gen Rashad Mahmood and Admiral Asif Sandila are amongst the powerful candidates for filling in the vacant posts following the retirement of CJCSC General Shameem and COAS General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.
