The South Korean firm, Samsung is expected to uncover its highly-anticipated Galaxy S5 smartphone at Mobile World Congress 2014 event.
The MWC 2014 will be held from February 24th to 27th. Though, Samsung doesn’t generally disclose its smatphones’ release date and their features, but reports indicate that the upcoming Galaxy S5 will feature a 64-bit processor, which is the same processor Apple’s iPhone 5S has.
Questioned by the Korea Times on whether its future phones will run 64-bit CPUs like the iPhone 5S, Samsung’s CEO of Mobile Shin Jong-Kyun stated: “Not in the shortest time. But yes, our next smartphones will have 64-bit processing functionality.”
It’s also expected to have an Android 4.4 Kit Kat operating system and the new IGZO screen technology.
Other newly emerged Samsung Galaxy S5 rumours have claimed the upcoming handset will make use of a new 16-megapixel smartphone camera sensor, offing high-end snaps that will finally spell the end for the dedicated compact camera.
There were rumors that the next Galaxy S5 smartphone may feature biometric technology from Crucialtec, a Korean-based company that’s behind the 64-bit processor found on laptop computers. Enstarz.com added, “The iPhone 5S TouchID fingerprint scanner built into the home button was a big innovation for Apple, putting it ahead of many of its competitors in the smartphone market.
There are also reports that Samsung may change the name of their smartphone from Galaxy S to Galaxy F.
