KARACHI: No evidence found, Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) former member of Sindh Assembly has been released for lack of sufficient evidence after joint investigation of intelligence agencies, local media reported on Tuesday.
According to reports, he went to party head offices, 90 after his release where he attended the birthday celebration of founder and leader of MQM, Altaf Hussain.
Karachi police had arrested Nadeem Hashmi in a case of two policemen’s murder in North Nazimabad last week, drawing strong protest from the MQM.
A case was lodged against the former lawmaker and proceedings carried out in an anti-terrorism court. However, according to sources, the accused was released today for lack of sufficient evidence.
