Bhawalpur: State minister for education, training & standards in higher education, Baligh-ur-Rehman stated that Pakistan is far behind other countries in terms of education.
While addressing to students and media in Islamia University Bhawalpur, the state minister for education said that the country lacks behind the education while other countries are progressing consistently.
The minister further added that in order to compete with the world in modern scenario, it is important to draft a policy and at the same time initiate basic efforts. We have to emphasise on sending 5 million students of age 5-9 years to school. He further added that 20 million students aged 5-16 years must also be brought to school.
“To reach the target of ‘Millennium Development School’ programme, we will invest 4% of quota on education. For this purpose, national commission for education is also under progress which will take onboard all the provinces”.
