BANNU: At least 5 tribesmen were killed while 2 were severely injured in an incident of firing by unknown persons in Bannu district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday.
The incident took place in Taji Kalle area located near the KPK’s Bannu district during a Jirga, the traditional format of meeting in tribal areas while several tribesman and their leaders were gathered to resolve some issues, initial reports said.
In the incident, 5 persons were killed on the spot due to the heavy fire opened by the unknown miscreants while two others were reportedly injured, police sources said.
Contingents of local security forces have reached the incident site while the dead bodies and injured are being transferred to the district’s hospital.
