ISLAMABAD: The third Regional Directors (RDs) Conference held at National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Islamabad and it was attended by all the Directors of seven Regional Campuses, Deans, heads and Directors of the main campus of the university.
The purpose of the conference was to provide a platform to all RDs, Directors, Deans and Heads to see and know each others besides discussing points of mutual interests. The conference was chaired by the Rector NUML Maj Gen (Retd) Masood Hasan and he while opening the discussion of the house on main agenda points told the Directors of all respective Regional campuses that the session would help to bring all campuses closer to each other and make home points to resolve issues for enhancing the functions and performance of campuses.
Director General (DG) NUML Brig Azam Jamal gave a detailed overview to the participants of conference about policies initiated, administrative boost ups, international cooperation, inter-campus participation, academic up gradation, faculty development and training programs, achievement and future prospects. He said that today’s agenda points relates to matters which will ensure the qualitative improvement of the university and will bring a tangible betterment.
The session of the house deliberated various agenda points which related to academic matters of the University. These academic matters which were deliberated by the house included the admission procedure, examination policy of the university, scholarships for the bright and needy students, examination system, syllabi and scheme of studies and co- curricular activities in all the regional and the main campuses of the University.
The Rector NUML Maj Gen (Retd) Masood Hasan told the participants that there is no denying the facts that NUML as a University is exceptionally good in imparting education in certain disciplines and we need a little more effort to strike the same excellence in others areas where we lack behind and a little more coordination is required to bring all other campuses at abreast with the main campus.
The in house deliberation was attended by Dean faculty of Near Eastern Languages and Culture Dr Syed Ali Anwar, Dean faculty of Advanced Integrated Studies and Research Prof Dr Shizra Munnawer, Dean faculty of Managed Sciences Dr Rasheed Ahmed Khan, Dean Faculty of Computer Sciences and Engineering Dr Muhammad Akbar and by the Directors of 7 regional campuses including Director Faisalabad Campus Brig (R) Abdul Waheed, Director Hyderabad Dr Karim Dad Pitafi, Director Campus Karachi Lt Col (R) Saeed ur Rehman, Director Lahore Campus Brig (R) Muhammad Akram, Director Multan Campus Prof Abdul Razzaq, Director Peshawar Campus Col (R) Mushtaq Hussain, Director Quetta Campus Brig (R) Syed Akhtar Hussain. Moreover, the conference was attended by Director Regional Services, Director Administration, Director Libraries, Director Finance, Director Exam, and Heads of English Studies, Mass Communication, Economics, QEC and Education departments of the University.
In the end Rector NUML and Director General thanked all the participants for their positive outputs to make the conference successful and hoped that the conference will help achieving the targets and cause of imparting good education.
