LAHORE: Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan cheif Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the Pakistani nation had failed to evolve its independence into a movement for the supremacy of Islam due to which it had been forced to accept the slavery of the anti Islam forces through the IMF and the World Bank.
Addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora mosque, he said, the present government had broken all records of securing loans from the international donors which would be recovered from the poverty stricken masses in the form of taxes and price hike.
He said none of the governments had ever explained to the people as to where the huge foreign loans were spent despite frequent raises in the price of POL, gas and electricity, and added that the foreign loan were spent only on the luxuries of the rulers while the poor masses became poorer.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that the federal Finance Minister was overjoyed over the approval of the IMF loans and was projecting it as a big success although this was tantamount to selling national honour and dignity. The PML(N) which had promised breaking the begging bowl and freeing the nation from the curse of loans, was now holding much bigger bowl for foreign loans, he remarked.
Continuing, the JI Ameer said that all man made systems including capitalism had failed to bring peace and happiness to mankind whereas Islam stood there to accept this challenge. The west had failed to prove the veracity of its tall claims and there was nothing of the name of justice and equality in the world whereas a struggle to grab the resources of the poor and the weak was going on all around. The systems promising justice and equality had crossed all limits of injustice and lawlessness, and were now trying to thrust their false systems by force. The anti Islam powers, he said, were playing with the lives of innocent people in their bid to tarnish the image of Islam and to hide its glorious aspects from the world at large.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that in different countries including Egypt, Syria and Bangladesh, a game to prove falsehood as truth and vice versa was going on. Those abolishing death sentence terming it as cruel, had double standards as was manifest from their total silence over the death sentence announced by the Bangladesh government for elderly politicians.
Meanwhile, the JI Ameer, Syed Munawar Hasan and JI Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, have strongly condemned thee drone attack in North Waziristan on Friday resulting in several deaths. They said it was an irony that while the nation was celebrating the Defense Day, the US drones were violating Pakistan’ territory, killing innocent citizens. It was high time that the rulers took a bold stance against the drones.
