Islamabad: Haroon Tariq a young Pakistani student secured 47A’s in the General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) O Level and A Level exams from the University of Cambridge International Examinations.
Haroon Tariq is a new record holder spanning both sciences and the humanities including Global Development, Human and Social Biology, Islamic Religion and Culture, Physics, and Chemistry. The achievement of Haroon Tariq has placed Pakistan back amongst the leading educationists throughout the world.
The previous record was also made by a Pakistani Zohaib Asad, who obtained 28 A’s. Haroon beat the previous record getting 38 A’s in O Levels and 47 A’s in A Level exams. He said that in a span of three years, he studied 50 different subjects both in O and A Levels.
According to Haroon, scoring 47 A’s was no way easy task by any means, and had to learn various languages including French and Spanish. He said, “I want to study engineering in the future, but have not decided whether to specialise in software engineering or aeronautical engineering”.
Haroon Tariq said that the teachers have effectively guided him towards the path of success. He too had to commit his entire time towards the studies to get remarkable achievment.
Shahmina Kamal, Head Principal of the school said, “I feel honoured to be instrumental in shaping a competent youngster for tomorrow’s Pakistan”.
Sahar Pirzada, the head of the Dept of Examinations said, “I always remind students that success is a state of mind. They need to trust themselves as they always know more than what they think they do. Surely enough, we have students setting world records for academic excellence”.
