Seoul: After the success of Samsung Galaxy S4, company has decided to launch fifth version of its flagship device with metal chassis.
The recent reports suggest that the device will likely to be called Samsung Galaxy S5 and company already started working on its design in Gumi.
The news of a metal case for the Galaxy S5 comes courtesy of Korean publication ETNews. The report also claims that Samsung will completely redesign its flagship handsets of 2104.
“Samsung is allegedly working on the new designs and materials at its factory in Gumi, South Korea, and some of the work might be carried out in Vietnam. All this is based on whispers about a big group of Samsung engineers dispatched to Vietnam,” reports Phone Arena.
Samsung introduce its first flagship smartphone of 2013, the Galaxy S4, in April this year and its is still going on with the same pace.
A recent report claims that the 2014 flagship handsets from the Korean company, including the Galaxy S5, will boast an aluminum body. The current Samsung smartphones, including the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 2, have a plastic body. Rumors also suggest that the upcoming Galaxy Note 3, due to launch on Sept. 4, will have a plastic body as well.
By contrast, archrivals of the Samsung Galaxy S4, such as the iPhone 5 and the HTC One, have an aluminum body. If Samsung launches the next-generation Galaxy S5 with an aluminum body then it can give stiffer competition to its rivals.
The smartphone arena is full of handsets manufactured by Samsung. The company may still launch the lower-priced handsets in the usual plastic material.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 has lived up to the hype and has attracted millions of customers worldwide. The handset also sold over 10 million units just within a month from release, which gives us an indication about its great popularity.
Samsung has been successful in meeting customer expectations and fans will hope that the company keeps on upgrading its future handsets with the latest hardware specifications, improved software and an enhanced exterior design.
If you have used a flagship Samsung smartphone, are you happy with the current body of the handset or will you prefer an aluminum case for your device?
