KARACHI: Referring to the defeat of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in Peshawar and Mianwali, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief, Altaf Hussin said that everyone saw the so-called “tsunami” going down the drain in the by-polls.
According to TheNewsTribe’s correspondent from Pakistan’s largest city Karachi, In a statement issued from London, he said, “These are some of the most critical times for the country, which call for all of us to learn to recognize each other’s existence.”
Congratulating the leaders of mainstream and other political parties, which made headway in the by-elections, Hussain urged them to show reciprocity in accepting the MQM’s mandate as well as its existence.
“We acknowledge your mandate, you should now admit ours”, Mr. Hussain said in his statement.
In the end he said transparent by-polls laid bare for all to see the “tsunami”, which some loftily claimed would wash the MQM out was nowhere to be found, whereas MQM was still there standing tall in all its glory.
MQM had won one national assembly and two Sindh assembly seats from Karachi during country’s biggest by-polls held on Thursday.
