ISLAMABAD: United Nations (UN) Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon on Tuesday termed drone strikes as violation of international laws.
United Nations’ (UN) Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has arrived to Pakistan on a official two-day visit today for holding talks with top Pakistani leadership on different important issues.
Ban Ki-Moon said that drone plane should be used only for the purpose of collecting information instead of attacks on people.
While addressing the media in Pakistan, Moon recognised Pakistani military’s sacrifices and significant part played in several peace missions on different spots across the World initiated by United Nations.
He said that sacrifices given by the Pakistani soldiers’ in Somalia peace mission will always be remembered.
‘More than 8000 pakistan soldiers are working in different peace missions of United Nations’, he said.
UN chief said that betterment of the organisation’s peace missions working will be made by using modern technology.
He said that visiting Pakistan is not less than an honour for him and he is very happy to visit the country.
Earlier, UN chief had offered his services for mediation process between India and Pakistan on long-standing Kashmir issue during an interview with APP and also expressed his grief over fresh outbreak of violence in Jammu and Kashmir.
