ISLAMABAD: United Nations’ Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is likely to join Pakistan’s Independence Day celebration on August 14 during his two-day official visit.
Ban-Ki Moon will reach Islamabad, the federal capital city of Pakistan, on August 13 for discussing polio eradication and educational enhancement.
Besides attending various functions in Pakistan, the UN top official will join the prestigious event of Pakistan’s Independence Day.
Moon will emphasise talks on different plans for promotion of education between Pakistani women.
The UN Secretary General is scheduled to meet top leadership of Pakistan including President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif‚
Moreover, he will also initiate discussion with PM special advisor on Foreign Affairs and National Security Sartaj Aziz ‚ Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq‚ women parliamentarians and other high officials.
Ban-Ki Moon will also take part in the Independence Day celebrations besides attending a number of functions including events on Polio eradication and youth education and inauguration of the Centre of Peace and Security at National University of Science and Technology (NUST).
