KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Syed Munawar Hasan has urged the western powers to allow strengthening the democracy in Pakistan and not to intervene in the internal matters of the country.
Addressing an Iftar party gathering in District west area of Karachi, JI Chief Munawar Hasan announced that the JI leadership will support PTI candidate Justice (R) Wajihuddin in presidential elections, although PML-N candidate Mamnoon Hussain was also a prestigious personality for President of Pakistan.
Hasan hoped that the other opposition parties will also support PTI candidate in presidential elections, scheduled on July 30.
JI Chief said although the Muslim Ummah is passing through critical juncture, but by the grace of God it is existing and keep fighting against western powers.
He further said that the 60per cent of the total army of the world was being fought in Afghanistan for last 12 years with sophisticated weapons, but they could not be able to bow down the Afghan nation.
He asked question to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif why he is silence over army coup in Egypt against Morsi government, as he (Nawaz) himself is strongly against dictatorship.
On the occasion, JI Chief urged the PM to stand with truth without any fear or feeling any pressure.
