Nottingham: Australian on Wednesday made 75 runs on loss of four wickets in reply of England’s 215 runs in the Ashes played at Trent Bridge.
Aussies after losing early two wickets recovered well as al-rounder Steven Smith’s unbeaten 38 while Chris Rogers 16 to guide Australia to the total of 75 after losing 4 wickets. Steven Smith on 38 runs along with Phillip Huge’s 7 runs remains unbeaten on the crease at stumps day 1.
James Anderson and Steve Finn took 2 wickets each for England.
Earlier England won the toss and invite Australia to bowl. England skipper and star batsmen Alastair Cook went early at the total of 27 runs while Joe Root and Jonathan Trott recovered well. Joe Root after well made 30 becomes the victim of Peter Siddle. While Trott was send to the pavilion two runs short of his Half century. Jonny Bairstow stay till the end with the bowlers. He made hard fought 37 to guide England’s total to 215.
Peter Siddle took 5 wickets while James Pattinson managed to get 3 wickets for Australia.
